DiSC Training Exercise: Car Activity

Here is a simple, yet effective DiSC training exercise you can incorporate into your next session that will open up a dialogue about the unique characteristics of each of the DiSC behavioral styles.

DiSC Car Training Activity
  1. Divide participants into 4 groups and provide a flip chart for each group.
  2. Ask the first group to write 3 adjectives that describe high "D" behavior. Ask the second group to write 3 adjectives that describe high "i" behavior, etc.
  3. Ask each group to determine the kind of car each behavioral style would buy if money were no object.
  4. Ask each group what color they would choose.
  5. Ask the groups what their bumper sticker would say.

DiSC Group Report Options

I spoke with two DiSC clients yesterday about the DiSC group report options within their EPIC Accounts.

The DiSC Facilitator Report provides data that DiSC trainers need to prepare for and work with a group. It includes a breakdown of group members by DiSC style and Classical Pattern distribution. You also get an overview of each style as it relates to group culture. Respondents’ names are included in the DiSC Facilitator Report, which offers an easy way for facilitators to get to know group members.

The DiSC Group Culture Report was designed for opening discussions on group culture. No respondent names are included in the DiSC Group Culture Report.

Do a side-by-side comparison of the DiSC Group Culture & DiSC Facilitator Reports by viewing the samples below:

Establishing Effective Communication Channels

I recently had a conversation with a DiSC Trainer who was concerned about an upcoming DiSC Training she had scheduled. The team was experiencing some conflict and upon reviewing their completed profiles (they used the DiSC Classic 2.0 Online Profile), she could see why. Everyone was a high D or C. When I was talking with her about the session, it reminded me of a great article that identifies the success of working with a team very similar to hers. I decided to share it with you...
